When tech billionaire Slater King meets cocktail waitress Frida at his fundraising gala, he invites her to join him and his friends on a dream vacation on his private island. As strange things begin to happen, Frida questions her reality.. We caught up with director Zoë Kravitz and her ensemble on the Blink Twice red carpet. Zoë Kravitz began writing Blink Twice under the original working title Pussy Island in 2017. Kravitz intended to keep this title for the film, but negative reception from the MPAA, women and theaters led to her changing it. they couldn’t make a drink out of snake venom.. Frida: Something terrible is going to happen.. Featured in Late Night with Seth Meyers: Channing Tatum/Sabrina Ionescu (2024). I Paid the Price to Be the Boss (The Boss) Written by Charles Bobbitt, James Brown & Fred Wesley Performed by James Brown Courtesy of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Music Inc. Blink Twice is a fantastic example of a recipe widely used these days that could be called "How to Brain-Dead Your Audience" Sure, the production and actors are solid, and the direction is also decent, but the story lacks momentum. Too many scenes are either a) redundant, b) overwrought, or c) both. The dialogue is mostly just, well, forget about it… Still, Blink Twice isn’t the worst movie ever, and if you’re a fan of the cast or interested in Zoë Kravitz’s career, you might want to give it a shot. But in my (most humble) opinion, if you crave a glimpse into the lives of the ultra-rich, you’re better off watching one of the many reality shows (like The Real Housewives of Beverly). Hills, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Secret Lives of the Super Rich, etc.), which I admit I watch sometimes – when I’m in the mood for a dose of shiny-sunny-sweet-sandy-land and want to put my brain on standby. Note: I understand these "facts" series won’t give you much violence or murder (at least not yet), but considering that 98% of Hollywood production seems to revolve around those themes, there’s plenty to satisfy that kind of sinister craving.
