    The prevalence of neurotoxocariasis may be seriously underestimated due to low awareness of physicians and lack of standard conventional diagnostic test in Taiwan.     In this study, we prepared quercetin (Q)/mesoporous calcium silicate calcium sulfate (MSCS)/polycaprolactone (PCL) composite scaffolds using the 3D printing technique, where we immersed it in simulated body fluid (SBF) solution and soaked it for up to 60 days. The characteristics of quercetin scaffold were examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), immunofluorescence, and Alizarin Red S staining.

    In 2017, Long-Fa Temple, an illegal religious asylum in Taiwan, was forced to shut down. Hundreds of chronic mentally ill patients were incarcerated there but provided with no modern psychiatric treatment. This study investigated the effectiveness of providing psychiatric intervention for patients subsequently transferred from Long-Fa Temple to a medical center.

    In total, 88 patients (mean age 57.2 years, 52.3% male) who had been incarcerated at Long-Fa Temple were transferred to a southern medical center. The patients underwent comprehensive biological, psychological, and social treatment for 18 months. The patients were evaluated once a month in terms of their psychotic symptoms, self-care, nutrition status, cognitive function, occupational function, and family function.

However, little research is available providing insight into resource use and cost drivers. Therefore, this study aimed to assess the feasibility of estimating the cost of manufacturing development of two cell-based therapy case studies using a CBT cost framework specifically designed for small-scale cell-based therapies.

    Mesenchymal stromal cells and immunosuppressive factor IL-37 can both suppress concanavalin A (Con A)-induced hepatitis in mice. Endometrial regenerative cells (ERCs), novel types of mesenchymal-like stromal cells, possess powerful immunomodulatory effects and are effective in treating various diseases. The aim of this study was to explore the effects of ERCs in suppressing Con A-induced hepatitis and determine whether IL-37 overexpression could enhance the therapeutic effect of ERCs in this process.

    ERCs were extracted from the menstrual blood of healthy female volunteer donors. The IL-37 gene was transferred into ERCs, and the expression of IL-37 in cells was detected by western blot and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Hepatitis was induced by Con A in C57BL/6 mice that were randomly divided into groups treated with phosphate-buffered saline, ERCs, IL-37 or ERCs transfected with the IL-37 gene (IL-37-ERCs). Cell tracking, liver function, histopathological and immunohistological changes, immune cell proportions and levels of cytokines were measured 24 h after Con A administration.
