    Northeast China is one of the most important maize producing areas in China. Due to limitations on crop growth resulting from temperature, whether this area can realize mechanical kernel harvesting maize (MKHM) will directly affect the stable development of maize in the region. The effects of climate change on the northern limits of early maturing MKHM were also analyzed in the study.

    The mean temperature during the maize growth period increased at a rate of 0.22 °C/10a from 1960 to 2018. The average growth periods for early, middle- and late-maturing common harvest maize (CHM) were 123, 135, and 140 days, respectively, and the accumulated temperature above 10 °C (AAT10) was 2400 °C, 2800 °C, and 3100 °C. The early maturing MKHM growth period was about 20 days longer than that of early maturing CHM, and thus the AAT10 of the MKHM was 2700 °C. From 2000-2018, the northern limits for the early maturing CHM maize planting were located from south of Nenjiang and Wudalianchi (47° 98′ N-49° 74′ N), while the northern limits for the early maturing MKHM maize were located in south Keshan, Nehe, and Hailun (46° 32′ N-48° 70′ N), which was about 148 km southward compared to the northern limits of the early maturing CHM maize.

    This study aimed to explore the significance of renal Doppler ultrasound in evaluating systemic and renal perfusion in sepsis patients before and after fluid resuscitation.

    Forty sepsis patients admitted to the Department of Intensive Medicine and intensive care unit (ICU) of the Fourth Hospital of Hebei Medical University from June 2014 to December 2014 were enrolled in this study, and 35 patients were included in the final analysis. These patients were divided into positive and negative fluid responsiveness groups. They were also divided into an acute kidney injury (AKI) group and a non-AKI group according to changes in creatinine and urine volume. The correlations of the changes in hemodynamics before and after fluid resuscitation in each group with the changes in renal resistance index (RRI) and renal blood flow (RBF) grades were evaluated.

    Before and after fluid resuscitation, the heart rate (HR), blood creatinine (Cre), and lactate (Lac) levels of all patients, including the patients in the positisevere sepsis before and after fluid resuscitation, while the RRI value cannot be used for evaluation. However, the RRI value can be used as a dynamic index for the evaluation of renal perfusion in patients with AKI.

    In this study, a total of 41 myopic adolescents were prescribed with orthokeratology glasses in our hospital from February 2018 to March 2019 and voluntarily cooperated with relevant examinations before and after wearing orthokeratology lenses. Patients’ uncorrected distant visual acuity (UCVA-D), uncorrected near visual acuity (UCVA-N) and naked eye near stereoacuity before wearing glasses, 1 month, and 3 months after wearing glasses were observed. The corneal astigmatism of patients was observed. The corneal endothelial cell density was observed. The dynamic adjustment function (NP, AF, NRA, PRA) values of patients were observed. The comparison of biological indexes in different time periods was observed. The changes of corneal curvature before wearing orthokeratology lens, 1 month and 3 months after wearing orthokeratology lens were observed.

    The aim of this study was to investigate the influences of micro ribonucleic acid (miR)-182 on oxidative stress and epithelial cell apoptosis in the lens of cataract rats through the phosphatidylinositol 3-hydroxy kinase/protein kinase B (PI3K/Akt) pathway.

    A total of 36 Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly assigned into three groups, including normal group (n=12), model group (n=12), and miR-182 mimics group (n=12). Rats in normal group were first normally fed. After establishing the cataract model, rats in model group were intraperitoneally injected with normal saline. Meanwhile, rats in miR-182 mimics group were intraperitoneally injected with miR-182 mimics. At 7 d after operation, materials were sampled. The expressions of B-cell lymphoma 2 (Bcl-2) and Bcl-2 associated X protein (Bax) were detected via immunofluorescence. The protein expressions of PI3K and Akt were detected using Western blotting. Moreover, the expression level of miR-182 was measured via qPCR. Cell apoptosis was evaluated using terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase (TdT) dUTP nick-end labeling (TUNEL).
