    The aim of the study was to investigate and evaluate factors affecting levels of negative bias or attitude towards obesity, known as “fat phobia.”

    The study included 583 individuals who agreed to participate in this research among those presented at our outpatient clinics for any reason. Participants were asked to complete a survey after their written consent was received. The survey consisted of two parts the first related to socio-demographic information; the second including a “Fat Phobia Scale,” the “State-Trait Anxiety Inventory” and the “Beck Depression Inventory.” Data analysed using SPSS 20 statistical software.

    Of the participants, 50.6% were male, and 49.4% were female. Among participants, 49.7% had a weight problem in their family, while 50.6% had experienced weight problems. In addition, 35.7% of participants were overweight, 27.4% severely overweight, 20.1% medium-to-normal weight, 7% severely underweight, 6.7% underweight and 3.1% obese. The median score for fat phobia level did not differat is always with us at varying levels. To the growing evidence of non-canonical roles for RNase P RNP subunits including regulation of chromatin structure and function, we add here a role for the rice RNase P Rpp30 in innate immunity. This protein (encoded by LOC_Os11g01074) was uncovered as the top hit in yeast two-hybrid assays performed with the rice histone deacetylase HDT701 as bait. We showed that HDT701 and OsRpp30 are localized to the rice nucleus, OsRpp30 expression increased post-infection by Pyricularia oryzae (syn. Magnaporthe oryzae), and OsRpp30 deacetylation coincided with HDT701 overexpression in vivo. Overexpression of OsRpp30 in transgenic rice increased expression of defence genes and generation of reactive oxygen species after pathogen-associated molecular pattern elicitor treatment, outcomes that culminated in resistance to a fungal (P. oryzae) and a bacterial (Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae) pathogen. Knockout of OsRpp30 yielded the opposite phenotypes. Moreover, HA-tagged OsRpp30 co-purified with RNase P pre-tRNA cleavage activity. Interestingly, OsRpp30 is conserved in grass crops, including a near-identical C-terminal tail that is essential for HDT701 binding and defence regulation. Overall, our results suggest that OsRpp30 plays an important role in rice immune response to pathogens and provides a new approach to generate broad-spectrum disease-resistant rice cultivars.Defects in DNA single-strand break repair (SSBR) are linked with neurological dysfunction but the underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood. Here, we show that hyperactivity of the DNA strand break sensor protein Parp1 in mice in which the central SSBR protein Xrcc1 is conditionally deleted (Xrcc1Nes-Cre ) results in lethal seizures and shortened lifespan. Using electrophysiological recording and synaptic imaging approaches, we demonstrate that aberrant Parp1 activation triggers seizure-like activity in Xrcc1-defective hippocampus ex vivo and deregulated presynaptic calcium signalling in isolated hippocampal neurons in vitro. Moreover, we show that these defects are prevented by Parp1 inhibition or deletion and, in the case of Parp1 deletion, that the lifespan of Xrcc1Nes-Cre mice is greatly extended. This is the first demonstration that lethal seizures can be triggered by aberrant Parp1 activity at unrepaired SSBs, highlighting PARP inhibition as a possible therapeutic approach in hereditary neurological disease.

    In this feasibility study, we aimed to implement a pilot telemedicine service at our healthcare facility in Faisalabad, Pakistan, and describe our experience.

    Telemedicine service was established by Faisalabad Medical University at two of its affiliated locations (i) a 24-hour COVID-19 Telephone Helpline was established at the Director Emergency Office, Allied Hospital, and District Headquarter (DHQ) Hospital. (ii) A Telemedicine Clinic comprising consultants and postgraduate residents from different specialties was established at Chief Office, Allied Hospital. The data related to the number and categories of calls and advice provided were collected from 27th March 2020 to 31st July 2020.

    A total of 4582 calls were received, at both locations, during the study period, out of which 2325 callers (51%) were male, and 2257 (49%) were females. At Allied Hospital, 172 patients were advised accordingly for their complaints, whereas, at DHQ Hospital, 320 patients were advised accordingly for their complaints. We further confirmed that p16 loss stimulated cell proliferation, and accelerated cell cycle progression in vitro and in vivo. Therefore, we conclude that p16 is involved in HQ-induced malignant transformation associated with suppressing Rb and p53 which resulting in accelerating the cell cycle progression.

    The Human Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a highly contagious respiratory disorder that may result in acute respiratory distress syndrome. The aim of this review was to investigate the incidence and type of respiratory function abnormalities during the follow-up of patients who recovered from COVID-19.

    A systematic search of MEDLINE was conducted, utilising various term combinations. Studies that assessed any respiratory function parameter during the re-evaluation of patients who recovered from COVID-19 and were published as full-text articles in English are included in this review.

    Amongst 183 articles initially retrieved, 8 fulfilled the criteria and were included in this review; they involved a total of 341 adult patients. Four were retrospective studies, one was a prospective cohort study, one was a randomised control trial and two were case reports/case series. The follow-up time ranged from 1month since symptom onset to 3months after discharge. The most frequent abnormality was reduced lung diffusion for carbon monoxide (DLCO), followed by a restrictive pattern.
