When using 2T2D slice spectra obtained from 2T2D correlation analysis using the spectra measured at the two temperatures, violet- as well as yellow colorant-contaminated white PCMs were identified, while these were unclear in the measurements at either 20 or 50 °C. The effective capture of dissimilar temperature-driven spectral variations of base paint and colorants (contaminants) by 2T2D correlation analysis was responsible for the improved defect identification.Miller-Fisher syndrome (MFS) together with Guillan-Barré syndrome (GBS) and Bickerstaff brainstem encephalitis (BBE) are considered to form a continuous clinical spectrum of the same disease, possibly affecting the peripheral and/or central nervous systems, with monophasic symptoms. The frequency of overlapping clinical signs and the risk of recurrence are independent and very low, but no cases of GQ1b-seropositive recurrent MFS overlapping with GBS and BBE have been described so far. Here, we describe for the first time an atypical case of recurrent GQ1b-seropositive MFS overlapping GBS and BBE, 12 years after a previous GQ1b-seronegative typical MFS episode. Our case expands the clinical spectrum of recurrent MFS, and it should prompt clinicians to investigate the presence of anti-ganglioside antibodies in recurrent MFS even when these were negative in the previous episode, especially in those presenting with overlapping spectrum symptoms and a critically ill picture during the second episode. The awareness of the “Cerebellar Cognitive Affective Syndrome” (CCAS) as a clinical entity is emerging. The CCAS is characterized by impaired executive functions, linguistic skills, visuospatial cognition and personality change. Here we report a 56-year-old, male teacher who developed acute psychomotor retardation, low energy level, infrequent speech, and mild cognitive decline. Two months before admission, he was initially diagnosed as depression, and later misdiagnosed as encephalitis, which misled him to receive high-dose intravenous steroids and antimicrobial drugs. The Brain MRI revealed multiple posterior cerebellar infarcts predominantly at the lobules VII and VIII. The standard neuropsychological tests were unremarkable; however, the CCAS Scale confirmed the diagnosis. The treatment of depression and secondary prevention of stroke was conducted. In cases that present with features of cognitive and affective disorders but with mild voluntary motor or without typical cerebellar features, the role of posterior cerebellar and vermian pathologies should be considered. The CCAS Scale is an appropriate screening tool to detect these patients and provides a framework for evidence-based treatment.Variants of the C19ORF12-gene have been described in patients with spastic paraplegia type 43 and in patients with mitochondrial membrane protein-associated neurodegeneration (MPAN), a subtype of neurodegeneration associated with brain iron accumulation (NBIA). In both subtypes optic atrophy and neuropathy have been frequently described. This case report describes a patient with bilateral optic atrophy and severe distal muscle weakness based on motor neuropathy without involvement of the central nervous system. Exome sequencing revealed a homozygous pathogenic missense variant (c.187G>C;p.Ala63Pro) of the C19ORF12-gene while iron deposits were absent on repeat MR-imaging of the brain, thus showing that peripheral neuropathy and optic neuropathy can be the sole manifestations of the C19ORF12-related disease spectrum whereby iron accumulation in the brain may be absent.Air pollution, which includes particulate matter (PM), is classified in group 1 as a carcinogen to humans by the International Agency for Research in Cancer. Specifically, PM exposure has been associated with lung cancer in patients living in highly polluted cities. The precise mechanism by which PM is linked to cancer has not been completely described, and the genotoxicity induced by PM exposure plays a relevant role in cell damage. In this review, we aimed to analyze the types of DNA damage and alterations in DNA repair pathways induced by PM exposure, from both epidemiological and toxicological studies, to comprehend the contribution of PM exposure to carcinogenesis. Scientific evidence supports that PM exposure mainly causes oxidative stress by reactive oxygen species (ROS) and the formation of DNA adducts, specifically by polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH). PM exposure also induces double-strand breaks (DSBs) and deregulates the expression of some proteins in DNA repair pathways, precisely, base and nucleotide excision repairs and homologous repair. Furthermore, specific polymorphisms of DNA repair genes could lead to an adverse response in subjects exposed to PM. Nevertheless, information about the effects of PM on DNA repair pathways is still limited, and it has not been possible to conclude which pathways are the most affected by exposure to PM or if DNA damage is repaired properly. Therefore, deepening the study of genotoxic damage and alterations of DNA repair pathways is needed for a more precise understanding of the carcinogenic mechanism of PM.High concentration particulate matter 2.5 released from forest fires, in addition to direct burns and asphyxia, PM2.5 is one of the main pollutants which threaten the safety of forest fire fighter. Therefore, to assess spatial distribution of PM2.5, a simulation study was conducted. Fuel beds with different moisture contents and loads were constructed. JAK inhibitor 144 times burning experiments were carried out under different wind speeds by using wind tunnel device. PM2.5 particles at different spatial points were collected and calculated. The results show that, in the two of three variables interaction between wind speed, fuel load, and, except fuel moisture content, wind speed and fuel load are positively correlated with the PM2.5 concentrations. From PM2.5 concentration which collected at each point in the horizontal and vertical directions, the overall trend is that PM2.5 concentration increases along the horizontal downwind direction (C and D higer than A and B) and the vertical upward direction (A and C higer than B and D) Based on BP neural network, the spatial distribution model of PM2.
