It is shown that At-Lt is found to be more effective than At-Li in breast cancer treatment using different methods included in the study as analyses of immune parameters, and histopathological examination in tumor tissue besides spleen cells. The tumor grew more slowly by the immune-stimulant effect of live-attenuated Leishmania parasites. Conclusion This promising therapy should be investigated for optimization in further studies with different cancer types and L. tropica may be designed to express antigens to enhance tumor antigen-specific responses, which may further improve efficacy and immune memory development.Rotavirus A is a dynamically evolving pathogen causing acute gastroenteritis in children during the first years of life. In the present study, we conducted a phylodynamic analysis based on the complete sequences of 11 segments of rotaviruses with the G4P[8] and G2P[4] genotypes isolated in Russia in 2017. learn more Since rotavirus has a segmented genome, our analysis was performed using the Bayesian approach based on separate samples of nucleotide sequences for each gene of the strains studied. For the strain with the genotype G4P[8], the most likely geographical locations of the nearest common ancestor were Russia (VP7, VP4, VP6), China (VP1), Thailand (VP3), Belgium (NSP1), Hungary (VP2, NSP2, NSP3), Italy (NSP4) and Japan (NSP5). For the strain with the G2P[4] genotype, India (VP7, VP4, VP6, NSP1, NSP4), Malawi (VP2, NSP2, NSP3), Australia (VP1), Italy (NSP5) and Bangladesh (VP3). The closest common ancestor of the strain with the genotype G4P[8] circulated in 2001-2012, depending on the gene being analyzed. For the strain with the G2P[4] genotype, the closest common ancestor dates from 2006 to 2013.In early-mid adolescence, parent-teen conflicts become more intense and parents’ displays of warmth tend to decline temporarily. Daily increases of parent-teen conflict have been linked to concurrent increases in adolescent emotional distress, yet greater average levels of parental warmth are known to buffer adolescents’ response to daily stressors such as interpersonal conflict. It is unclear whether daily increases in parental warmth may also function as a protective buffer that attenuates the daily association between parent-teen conflict and individuals’ well-being. The present study aimed to fill an important gap in the literature by examining daily (within-person) fluctuations, and average between-person differences, in parental warmth as potential moderators of the daily association between parent-teen conflict intensity (defined here by the degree of negative emotions in parent-teen interactions) and well-being (distress, positive affect, and self-esteem) of both parents and adolescents. Data are baseily or average perceptions of warmth. These findings suggest that isolated, day-specific increases in warmth may be less protective than high, stable levels of parental warmth in mitigating the daily association between parent-teen conflict and adolescent well-being.A short term pot trail was employed to evaluate the exposure of mixed heavy metals (Cu, Pb and Zn) on growth, radial oxygen loss (ROL) and root anatomy in Bruguiera gymnorrhiza. The possible function of BgC4H, a cytochrome P450 gene, on root lignification was also discussed. The exposures of mixed Cu, Pb and Zn directly reduce O2 leakage at root surface. The reduced ROL inhibited by heavy metals was mainly ascribed by the changes in root anatomical features, such as decreased root porosity together with increased lignification within the exodermis. BgC4H was found to be up-regulated after 0.5-day metal exposure, and remained higher transcript levels within 3-day metal exposure when compared to control roots. Besides, the inhibited photosynthesis may also result in less oxygen can be transported to the underground roots. In summary, the mangrove B. gymnorrhiza appeared to react to external mixed metal contaminants by developing a lignified and impermeable exodermis, and such a root barrier induced by mixed Cu, Pb and Zn appeared to be an adaptive response to block metal ions enters into the roots. The current study was designed to compare the acaricidal activity of pure thymol (T) crystals, eucalyptus oil (E), and their combinations (T + E) at concentrations ranging from 0.625 to 10% against phenotypically deltamethrin-resistant Rhipicephalus annulatus ticks. The adulticidal, larvicidal, ovicidal, and repellent activities of the tested compounds and their possible mechanism of action were studied. Thymol showed 93.3% adulticidal activity at 10% concentration, whereas at 2.5% it achieved 100% larvicidal activity. Eucalyptus oil had a significant effect on tick adults at concentrations > 5%, and at 10% concentration it showed 96.7% adulticidal activity and stopped the egg hatching. On deltamethrin-resistant larvae, the median lethal concentration (LD50) was 0.61, 7.5, and 0.61% for T, E, and T + E combinations, respectively, and repellent activities were 85.7, 62.5, and 100% at the 10% concentration used. Combinations of T + E did not induce additional effects as adulticidal and larvicidal in a comparison with T treatments. The tick’s acetylcholinesterase significantly decreased as a result of all treatments including deltamethrin, whereas lipid peroxidation significantly increased compared with the control untreated ticks. The glutathione content significantly decreased as a result of all treatments except for treatments with 10% thymol and its combination with eucalyptus oil. Moreover, 10% eucalyptus oil significantly decreased the tick’s glutathione peroxidase and catalase activities reflecting the attenuation of antioxidant defense in the ticks. In conclusion, thymol and eucalyptus oil showed excellent activities against deltamethrin-resistant R. annulatus isolates. Their action may be mediated via acetylcholinesterase inhibition. The effect of thymol-eucalyptus combinations recorded higher activities as an ovicidal and as a repellent.Ticks and fleas are arthropods widely distributed around the world involved in the transmission of various vector-borne diseases (VBDs), including Brazilian Spotted Fever (BSF), Baggio-Yoshinari Syndrome and the plague, with outstanding consequences for the public health. The aim of this study was to investigate the presence of Rickettsia spp., Borrelia spp. and Yersinia pestis in arthropods collected from dogs, cats and horses living in the state of Pernambuco, Northeastern Brazil. From January 2017 to April 2019, ectoparasites were collected, morphologically identified and molecularly analysed through PCR and sequencing. In total 401 specimens were collected from 86 animals, being 68% (n = 273) and 32% (n = 128) from rural and urban areas, respectively. The most commonly detected species were the ticks Dermacentor nitens, Amblyomma sculptum, Rhipicephalus sanguineus sensu lato (s.l.), Rhipicephalus microplus, and Amblyomma ovale, and the fleas Ctenocephalides felis and Ctenocephalides canis. DNA of Rickettsia felis was detected in D.
