ion course of health caregivers has been necessary, and the public health, family, and midwifery disciplines needed to be educated in a university appropriate to the description of tasks of health caregivers.

Washing of hands and maintenance of appropriate hand hygiene plays a significant role in preventing the spread of many communicable diseases. However, literature demonstrating the efficacy of the World Health Organization (WHO) recommended handwashing procedure among schoolchildren in India is scanty.

The aim of this study was to assess hand hygiene efficacy through graphical assessment technique utilizing ultraviolet (UV)-sensitive fluorescent lotion before and after handwashing demonstration among students aged 12-18 years.

This was an interventional study carried out over a period of 5 days among 21 schoolchildren aged 12-18 years in their respective school premises. dBET6 chemical Participants were requested to rub their hands with an UV-sensitive fluorescent lotion and then wash them. Hands were air-dried and examined under UV rays for blue light emission in a dark room. Emission of blue light highlighted parts of hand where lotion is still present and area not washed properly. Such areas were painted with nontoxic skin-friendly paints. Painted hands were imprinted over graph papers. Hand hygiene demonstration was provided to the participants as per the WHO guidelines by qualified public health dentists using audiovisual aids. Postintervention, the procedure followed at baseline was adopted to obtain imprints of uncovered (not covered during hand hygiene process) parts of hands. The mean percentage of uncovered parts of hand was assessed and compared between baseline and postintervention.

The overall mean percentage score of uncovered hand area significantly reduced from 73.90 ± 19.81 mm

    at baseline to 20.05 ± 17.0 mm

after demonstration of proper hand hygiene guidelines (

    < 0.001).

Hand hygiene demonstration by qualified public health dentists using audio-visual aids has significantly contributed to improving their hand hygiene practice.

However, their occurrence in thyroid gland is rare. We reported a case in which a 57-year-old male patient with history of nontoxic uninodular goiter presented with dysphonia and dysphagia. The cytology of ultrasound guided fine needle aspiration of the thyroid nodule revealed epidermal cyst. Despite the benign presentation. The patient underwent lobectomy to relieve his clinical symptoms and the surgical pathology exam confirmed the diagnosis of benign thyroid cyst, consistent with EIC of the thyroid.

The majority of Latino immigrants have been shown to have a mobile phone. Cellular phones offer a low-cost method of reaching larger populations and have the potential for increased tailoring and interactivity. This supports the development of mHealth interventions to address healthcare disparities in this population. In this study we sought to evaluate the feasibility and acceptability of interactive Spanish-language text messages sent throughout a child’s first year of life in a low-income, limited-English proficient (LEP) Latino population to support families in accessing and using pediatric primary care more effectively.

Participants (n=79) received interactive text messages over a period of 12 months as a part of a multi-modal mHealth intervention conducted at an urban academic pediatric primary care practice. Inclusion criteria were singleton infant <2 months of age, enrollment in public health insurance, parent age >18, parent preferred healthcare language of Spanish, and at least one househorticipants rated the program positively, especially the appointment reminders.

LEP Latino parents successfully engaged with interactive Spanish-language text sequences and parent acceptability was high. This study demonstrates feasibility for interventions employing this technology. Text message interventions may be a feasible approach to reduce healthcare disparities and costs for vulnerable populations.

Female entertainment workers (FEWs) in Cambodia are one of the hard-to-reach populations at risk of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and poor sexual and reproductive health (SRH). Due to the stigmatizing nature of their work, it is difficult to reach them with prevention and treatment services. The Mobile Link project is a mobile health (mHealth) intervention that aims to deliver health messages to FEWs and link them up to health services. This study aims to explore the perspectives of stakeholders on the Mobile Link and identify barriers and facilitators to the project implementation, in order to determine areas for improvement of future mHealth interventions.

This study was conducted between November to December 2018 in the capital city and other three provinces where the Mobile Link was implemented. We employed a qualitative research design using an interpretative approach. A purposive sampling method was used to recruit participants across four project sites. All participants were stakeholders invols and is well-accepted by stakeholders from the national and community levels. We discussed the implications of the perceived facilitators and barriers identified on the project and mHealth interventions. Implications discussed should be taken into consideration by organizations implementing mHealth interventions for HIV key populations in Cambodia as well as in other resource-limited settings.
