istics) we will be able to explore the influence of alterations in sympathetic tone on VA burden reduction in different subgroups. Finally, this study will assess the safety of treatment with 2 different AAD and ablation of VA.
80% reduction of the VA burden on 24-h ambulatory Holter monitoring. After reaching the primary endpoint, patients randomized to one of the 2 AAD arms will undergo a cross-over to the other AAD treatment arm to explore differences in drug efficacy and QoL in individual patients. Due to the use of different AAD (with and without β-blocking characteristics) we will be able to explore the influence of alterations in sympathetic tone on VA burden reduction in different subgroups. Finally, this study will assess the safety of treatment with 2 different AAD and ablation of VA.
Psoriasis is a systemic inflammatory disease capable of creating stigmatization in the form of social exclusion and decrement of psychological conditions.
The aim of the study was to determine the level of stigmatization in patients with plaque psoriasis.
The study included 166 patients with plaque psoriasis (55.6% women and 44.3% men) with Psoriasis Area and Severity Index scores ≤10. The age of the study patients ranged between 18 and 72 years (arithmetic mean = 37.4; median = 38; standard deviation [SD] = 11.0). The mean age at the diagnosis of psoriasis was 21.5 years (median = 20; SD = 9.1) and disease duration varied from 2 to 59 years (arithmetic mean = 15.8; median = 15; SD = 11.3). The study patients completed the Polish version of the 6-item Stigmatization Scale and the 33-item Feelings of Stigmatization Questionnaire and a survey developed by the authors of this study, containing questions about the participants’ sociodemographic characteristics (sex, age, place of residence, marital status, l significance, scores for the 33-item Feelings of Stigmatization Questionnaire.
Stigmatization awareness should be promoted among physicians and psoriatic patients to improve psoriasis management.

The ultrasonographic scores EU TI-RADS and ACR TI-RADS were introduced to give the clinicians indications for fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC). The predictive role of these scores was never evaluated and compared in a surgical series of patients. The aim of this study was to evaluate the ex post diagnostic accuracy of EU TI-RADS and ACR TI-RADS in a real-life series of thyroidectomized patients and to evaluate the ‘missing’ thyroid cancer following the operational indications of these scores.
Retrospective monocentric cohort study.
In total, 255 patients (harboring 304 nodules) undergoing thyroidectomy for benign and malignant thyroid conditions were enrolled. The prevalence of thyroid malignancy for each class of ACR TI-RADS and EU TI-RADS, their diagnostic accuracy, the number of ‘unnecessary’ FNAC and the number of ‘missed’ cancers were evaluated.
ACR TI-RADS and EU TI-RADS score had similar and satisfactory accuracy values for predicting thyroid malignancy (AUC 0.835 for ACR TI-RADS vs 0.827 for EU TI-RADS). The ACR TI-RADS and EU TI-RADS categories (suspicious vs non-suspicious), age, sex and presence of a single nodule significantly and independently predicted the presence of malignancy in a logistic regression model. An ex post analysis according to the indications for FNAC for each score indicated that 31 and 16 cases of cancer would have been missed by ACR TI-RADS and EU TI-RADS scores, respectively.
ACR TI-RADS and EU TI-RADS display a good performance in predicting thyroid cancer when histology is taken as reference standard, but additional clinical judgement is required to decide the indication for FNAC.

Complications of M. bovis BCG administration, while rare, can occur. While a few cases of vertebral osteomyelitis secondary to BCG therapy exist in the literature, and while there are case reports of osteomyelitis and septic arthritis from BCG vaccination (Chen et al., 2017; Huang et al., 2019; Lin et al., 2015 [1-3]), there are no reported cases of osteomyelitis and septic arthritis involving the foot from BCG therapy for urinary bladder cancer. We present an unusual presentation of osteomyelitis and septic arthritis of the tarsometatarsal joints after M. bovis BCG therapy for urinary bladder cancer. We will describe MRI and ultrasound findings in our case of M. bovis BCG osteomyelitis and septic arthritis. We present a case of asymptomatic chyluria in a 70-year-old man detected two years after microwave ablation of renal cell carcinoma. see more Chyluria is a rare complication of partial nephrectomy, but has not been previously reported after renal microwave ablation therapy. Recently, percutaneous thermal ablation techniques for T1a renal cancers are in surge due to comparable treatment efficacy, less invasive nature and lower complications. It is imperative to be aware of the post-ablation imaging findings and complications for correct diagnosis. Most patients with chyluria are clinically asymptomatic; therefore, serendipitous diagnosis on imaging detecting fat-fluid level may not be unusual.Chlorine dioxide (ClO2) can be used as a pre-oxidant when chloramination is performed in water treatment plants. However, the effects of ClO2 pre-oxidation on the formation of nitrogenous disinfection by-products, such as dichloroacetonitrile (DCAN) and dichloroacetamide (DCAcAm), during chloramination are not well understood. In this study, the effects of ClO2 pre-oxidation on the formation of DCAN and DCAcAm during chloramination of 28 model compounds and seven real water samples were investigated. The sources of nitrogen for DCAN and DCAcAm formation were investigated using 15N-labeled monochloramine. ClO2 pre-oxidation affected DCAN and DCAcAm formation during chloramination of model compounds in different ways. ClO2 pre-oxidation increased unlabeled and 15N-labeled DCAN and DCAcAm formation during chloramination of six amino acids and peptides and five indoles and tertiary amines. ClO2 pre-oxidation decreased DCAN formation but increased DCAcAm formation during chloramination of three hydroxybenzamide compounds, but had the opposite effects for four tetracyclines.
