Although bilateral breast uptake of 99mTc-MIBI may be seen in postpartum scenario, unilateral breast uptake can also occur in patients with preferential lactation from 1 breast as seen in this case and should not be mistaken for pathology.

A 46-year-old asymptomatic woman with a newly detected large pulmonary mass was admitted to our hospital. An ultrasonography-guided needle biopsy was performed based on a suspicion of malignancy, and an ectopic goiter was confirmed pathologically. Laboratory findings were unremarkable, except that thyroid function tests suggested subclinical hyperthyroidism. A 131I whole-body scintigraphy and SPECT/CT were further performed and revealed intense radioiodine uptake in the pulmonary mass, the mediastinal nodule, and thyroid gland. A diagnosis of ectopic pulmonary goiter with normally located thyroid was finally made.

68Ga-DOTATATE PET/CT is an imaging technique used in the diagnosis of neuroendocrine tumors. Since renal cell carcinoma (RCC) expresses the somatostatin receptors, 68Ga-DOTATATE PET/CT could be used in the surveillance of RCC. However, limited cases showing 68Ga-DOTATATE uptake in the metastases of RCC have been reported before. Herein, we report a case of a 55-year-old woman with a history of left nephrectomy for clear cell renal cell carcinoma 2 years before, and referred to 68Ga-DOTATATE PET/CT for the evaluation of adrenal mass. 68Ga-DOTATATE PET/CT showed intense 68Ga-DOTATATE uptake on the adrenal mass. Histopathology of the adrenal mass confirmed the diagnosis of clear cell renal cell carcinoma metastasis.

Although radiography, CT, and MRI are used in the diagnosis of these conditions, little is known about their manifestations on nuclear imaging. We present a case of symmetric uptake at the inferior scapulothoracic articulations mimicking metastatic disease on a staging bone scan. Recognition of this pattern of activity is not only important to accurately exclude malignancy, but also to aid referring providers in addressing potential causes of patient morbidity.

Primary intraosseous squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is an uncommon malignant cancer involving the jaw bones. We herein reported the imaging findings of a primary intraosseous SCC of the mandible in a 47-year-old man. He was diagnosed as cancer of unknown primary in the cervical node. FDG PET/CT revealed a focal hypermetabolic lesion around the tooth root of the right lower molar. MRI showed the lesion had hyperintensity on T2-weighted imaging and significant enhancement on T1-weighted imaging fat saturate images. The final diagnosis of primary intraosseous SCC of mandible was confirmed pathologically.
