    The social deficit is a prevailing symptom in stress-induced depression. Although social interaction behavior has been widely studied in humans and rodents, it is imprecise to record the social behavior between two free-moving mice via perusal. In the present study, we applied an approach to analyze the social behavior in mice using a software named “MiceProfiler.” C57BL/6J mice were stressed via chronic restraint stress (CRS) and housed in three populations of different sizes as follows single, three in a cage, and six in a cage. The MiceProfiler was used to analyze the video of behavioral repertoire and, the result showed that stressed and single housed mice exhibited more social interaction both in the contact time and contact activities. Furthermore, we investigated the effect of CRS on social behavior when the mice were housed in larger populations size (three or six in a cage) and found that, the CRS procedure promoted social interaction. However, the larger population size resulted in the less total contact time, less time of head-tail, and moving in an opposite way. buy iMDK Besides, the CRS mice showed less social avoidance while the mice from a larger population presented less active contact. And the CRS mice also exhibited a higher social hierarchy compared with the control. Our data indicated that mild restraint stress might increase the intercommunication between mice. Several clinical studies have shown very good effects of TCZ in patients with COVID-19, with a few minor side effects reported. Only eight serious liver injuries caused by TCZ were reported before being used in the treatment of patients with COVID-19. Considering the significantly increased use of TCZ for the treatment of COVID-19, we would like to warn of its rare but possible serious hepatotoxicity, especially when used together with other hepatotoxic drugs. Methods We describe a patient with COVID-19-induced cytokine storm who developed drug-induced liver injury associated with the use of TCZ. Results One day after TCZ administration, serum transaminase levels increased 40-fold. Nevertheless, TCZ had a positive effect on clinical and laboratory parameters in cytokine storm, with transaminases values normalizing in 10 days. Conclusions This is the first reported case of DILI caused by TCZ in a COVID-19 patient. Intensive liver function monitoring is imperative in COVID-19 patients, because of frequent polypharmacy with potentially hepatotoxic drugs.Chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) is group 4 pulmonary hypertension caused by organized thrombi in the pulmonary arteries. Balloon pulmonary angioplasty (BPA) is an emerging treatment option for patients with inoperable CTEPH but needs contrast media. Therefore, management can be very difficult in patients who have severe iodine allergies. We present a case of a 61-year-old female with CTEPH. Right heart catheterization showed that the mean pulmonary arterial pressure (mPAP) was 47 mmHg. Her organized thrombi were not surgically accessible, so we performed BPA to improve her hemodynamic status. One session of BPA was performed, but the second session was halted because of iodine-induced anaphylactic shock. Despite the administration of pulmonary arterial hypertension-specific drugs for 3 months, the patient’s mPAP was still 33 mmHg. CTEPH patients with mPAP ≥30 mmHg have a poor prognosis, so we decided to perform BPA using gadolinium contrast media. A total of six sessions of gadolinium contrast BPA (Gd-BPA) improved the patient’s mPAP to the normal range. Gadolinium contrast media could also be used for visualizing pulmonary arteries during BPA. Our report is the first successful case of Gd-BPA, which improved the patient’s hemodynamic status to the almost normal range. Gd-BPA may be an attractive treatment option for patients with inoperable CTEPH and severe iodine allergy.Introduction In patients with endocarditis and cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIED), lead extraction is recommended according to current guidelines. In patients with short lead implant duration, lead extraction by manual traction might be sufficient for intraoperative lead removal. However, in patients with long implant duration, specialized extraction tools like laser or mechanical rotational sheaths are necessary. We report our experience with transvenous lead extraction during concomitant cardiac surgery for valvular endocarditis using mechanical rotational sheaths. Methods and results Between December 2018 and April 2020, 12 patients were treated with transvenous lead extraction during open-heart surgery using mechanical rotational sheaths. Cardiac surgery was performed due to mitral, aortic, or tricuspid valve endocarditis. All patient-related and procedural data were collected, and in-hospital outcome was analyzed retrospectively. Mean patients’ age was 65.2 ± 16.4 years, and 75.0% were male. Nine atrial, 15 ventricular, and 2 coronary sinus leads had to be extracted.
