Stem barks of Boswellia dalzielii are used traditionally for the treatment of various bacterial infections. A bioassay guided fractionation of the MeOH-CH2Cl2 (1/1, v/v) stem barks extract led to the isolation of fourteen compounds 1-14, identified based on spectroscopic data. Dalzienoside (1) is reported here for the first time. The broth microdilution method was used to evaluate the antibacterial activity of the crude extract, fractions and compounds against six bacterial strains. The crude extract exhibited moderate antibacterial activity with MIC of 250 μL/ml; two fractions showed significant activities with MICs ranging from 7.8 to 125 μg/ml, while α-boswellic acid (2), β-boswellic acid (3), acetyl-11-keto-β-boswellic acid (4) from these fractions exhibited strong activities with MIC value of 3.125 µg/mL against Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella typhi, Enterobacter cloacae, Streptococcus pneumonia and Pseudomonia aeruginosa. This study gives insight into the antibacterial constituents of the stem bark of B. dalzielii and justifies its use in ethnomedicine.Lavandula angustifolia Mill. (lavender) and Origanum heracleoticum L. (greek oregano) are aromatic plants used in traditional medicine for relief of convulsion, anxiety, insomnia and in the treatment of neurological disorders. On the basis of literature, we evaluated the changing in glutathione enzymatic activities provoked by the essential oils and pure components, linalool, carvacrol and limonene to study the mechanisms of action, responsible for several activities. Activities of SOD (superoxide dismutase) and GPx (glutathione peroxidase) tend to increase respect to control. SOD maximal increase reached up to 117% for carvacrol and limonene. Increase in GPx activity reached even up to value 1.229 for origanum oil in comparison to control 0.125 μkat/mg prot. Activities of GR (glutathione reductase), except for lavender, showed a biphasic response. Like for GR, the administration of compounds, resulted in a biphasic response in GST (glutathione-S-transferase) activities (with a consistent increase in activity at concentration 125 μg/mL for all compounds except lavender). Data were derived from the 2012 and 2017 Indonesia Demographic and Health Survey. Information from 1408 children younger than 5 years showing ARI symptoms in the past 2 weeks before the survey was analyzed using logistic regression analyses. Around 25% of children younger than 5 years with ARI symptoms did not receive medical care. The odds of receiving care increased in mothers from rich households. The odds reduced in children aged 2 or more years; children of mothers not assisted by trained delivery attendants; mothers attending none or less then 4 antenatal visits; mothers delivering at home, and mothers reporting that permission to visit health services was a problem. Efforts to improve care-seeking behavior are required. The objective of this study is to evaluate the distribution of TLR9 gene C/T (rs352140) polymorphisms and its possible association with clinicopathological finding in Egyptian adult primary ITP. This study was carried out at Internal Medicine Department, Menoufia University Hospital, Egypt, from August 2018 to January 2020. Eighty adults (≥ 18 years) were enrolled in the study; 40 patients with primary ITP and 40 healthy individuals as controls. Identification of the TLR9 C/T (rs352140) polymorphic variant was performed by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism.
