There is a need of a mechanism which can easily tackle the problems of nonlinear delay integro-differential equations for large-scale applications of Internet of Things. In this paper, Haar wavelet collocation technique is developed for the solution of nonlinear delay integro-differential equations for wireless sensor network and industrial Internet of Things. The method is applied to nonlinear delay Volterra, delay Fredholm and delay Volterra-Fredholm integro-differential equations which are based on the use of Haar wavelets. Some examples are given to show the computational efficiency of the proposed technique. The approximate solutions are compared with the exact solution. The maximum absolute and mean square roots errors for distant number of collocation points are also calculated. The results show that Haar method is efficient for solving these equations for industrial Internet of Things. The results are compared with existing methods from the literature. The results exhibit that the method is simple, precise and efficient.Although the wood-based panel industry is not considered to be a water-consuming sector, it generates ca. 600 M m3 of wastewater every year on a global scale. The wastewater is usually highly polluted and environmentally toxic even after dilution. Common wastewater treatment techniques require high-energy input or addition of various chemicals to the treated wastewater, which cause secondary pollution and production of toxic sludge. Microbial fuel cells (MFCs) have become an attractive technology, allowing for zero-energy treatment of various types of wastewater with simultaneous production of electric current. Recent investigations have shown that MFCs can also be utilized for sustainable treatment and energy production from the wastewater generated by the wood-based panel industry. This article contains a critical summary of the investigations in this field as well as a discussion of the research needed and perspectives for the future.Although the presence of cardiac dysfunction and cardiomyopathy in chronic diabetes has been recognized, the pathophysiology of diabetes-induced metabolic and subcellular changes as well as the therapeutic approaches for the prevention of diabetic cardiomyopathy are not fully understood. Cardiac dysfunction in chronic diabetes has been shown to be associated with Ca2+-handling abnormalities, increase in the availability of intracellular free Ca2+ and impaired sensitivity of myofibrils to Ca2+. Metabolic derangements, including depressed high-energy phosphate stores due to insulin deficiency or insulin resistance, as well as hormone imbalance and ultrastructural alterations, are also known to occur in the diabetic heart. It is pointed out that the activation of the sympathetic nervous system and renin-angiotensin system generates oxidative stress, which produces defects in subcellular organelles including sarcolemma, sarcoplasmic reticulum and myofibrils. Such subcellular remodeling plays a critical role in the pathogenesis of diabetic cardiomyopathy. In fact, blockade of the effects of neurohormonal systems has been observed to attenuate oxidative stress and occurrence of subcellular remodeling as well as metabolic abnormalities in the diabetic heart. The strain had morphological characteristics and chemotaxonomic properties identical to those of members of the genus Streptomyces. It formed spiral chains of spores with spiny surfaces. The menaquinones detected were MK-9(H6), MK-9(H8) and MK-9(H4). The major fatty acids were iso-C160, C150, C161ω7с and anteiso-C150. The phospholipids were diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylmethylethanolamine, phosphatidylethanolamine and phosphatidylinositol mannoside. The DNA G + C content of the draft genome sequence, consisting of 8.5 Mbp, was 70.6%. Analysis of the 16S rRNA gene sequence showed that strain jys28T belongs to the genus Streptomyces with the highest sequence similarities to Streptomyces chattanoogensis NBRC 13058T (99.2%) and Streptomyces lydicus DSM 40002T (99.2%) and phylogenetically clustered with them. Multilocus sequence analysis based on five other house-keeping genes (atpD, gyrB, rpoB, recA and trpB) and the low level of DNA-DNA relatedness and phenotypic differences allowed the novel isolate to be differentiated from its most closely related strains. Therefore, the strain is concluded to represent a novel species of the genus Streptomyces, for which the name Streptomyces piniterrae sp. nov. is proposed. Furthermore, the putative biosynthetic gene cluster of heliquinomycins was identified and the biosynthetic pathway was discussed. The type strain is jys28T (=CCTCC AA 2018051T =DSM 109823T).The debate on policies addressing the challenges posed by population ageing pays increasing attention to sustainable and innovative ways to tackle the multidimensional impact this phenomenon has on society and individuals. Moving from the findings of two European research projects, a qualitative study based on a rapid review of the literature, expert interviews, focus groups and case studies analysis has been carried out in Italy. This study illustrates which social innovations have been recently implemented in this country’s long-term care (LTC) sector, and the areas in which further steps are urgently needed in the future. This takes place by first highlighting the existing links between social innovation and LTC, and then by identifying the key factors that can facilitate or hinder the implementation of these initiatives. Finally, the study suggests how to promote social innovation, by strengthening the “integration” and “coordination” of available services and resources, through a-for this country still relatively-new approach towards ageing, based on pillars such as prevention and education campaigns on how to promote well-being in older age.
