Genetic analysis revealed that overexpression of PIF4 and YUC8 could restore the suppressed hypocotyl length in the ztl mutants. Our results suggest that ZTL induces expression of YUC8 via PIF4 in upper aerial parts and promotes hypocotyl elongation.Characterizing the properties of brain networks across mood states seen in bipolar disorder (BP) can provide a deeper insight into the mechanisms involved in this type of affective disorder. In this study, graph theoretical methods were used to examine global, modular and nodal brain network topology in the resting state using functional magnetic resonance imaging data acquired from 95 participants, including those with bipolar depression (BPD; n = 30) and bipolar mania (BPM; n = 39) and healthy control (HC) subjects (n = 26). The threshold value of the individual subjects’ connectivity matrix varied from 0.15 to 0.30 with steps of 0.01. We found that (1) at the global level, BP patients showed a significantly increased global efficiency and synchronization and a decreased path length; (2) at the nodal level, BP patients showed impaired nodal parameters, predominantly within the frontoparietal and limbic sub-network; (3) at the module level, BP patients were characterized by denser FCs (edges) between Module III (the front-parietal system) and Module V (limbic/paralimbic systems); (4) at the nodal level, the BPD and BPM groups showed state-specific differences in the orbital part of the left superior-frontal gyrus, right putamen, right parahippocampal gyrus and left fusiform gyrus. These results revealed abnormalities in topological organization in the whole brain, especially in the frontoparietal-limbic circuit in both BPD and BPM. These deficits may reflect the pathophysiological processes occurring in BP. In addition, state-specific regional nodal alterations in BP could potentially provide biomarkers of conversion across different mood states.
In children with spastic cerebral palsy, selective dorsal rhizotomy (SDR) is conducted to improve lower limb spasticity. Improvements in upper extremity function have also been noted in early follow-up. The purpose of this study was to determine if upper extremity improvements are sustained in the long term.
A retrospective review of prospectively collected data on children who underwent SDR was conducted. Quality of Upper Extremities Skill Test (QUEST) scores for dissociated movement, grasp and total scores were compared using repeated measures ANOVA for individual patients at three time points preoperatively, early post-operatively (≤ 2 years) and late post-operatively (9+ years).
Out of 200+ patients having SDR, 32 had QUEST assessment at all three time points. Significant improvements in QUEST dissociated movement (F = 3.665, p = 0.045), grasp (F = 7.995, p = 0.001) and total scores (F = 9.471, p = 0.001) were found. Pairwise comparisons were significant from pre-operative to early post-operative times for all QUEST scores (p = 0.001, 0.003, 0.001), and this was maintained at late post-operative assessment for grasp and total scores (p = 0.02, p = 0.02). There was no significant change in scores between early and late post-operative assessment time points.

The daily ingestion of green tea extract (GTE) capsules in women with oligo- or asymptomatic uterine myomas was monitored over 6months with regard to their quality of life, myoma-associated complaints and side effects.
The participants were interviewed and examined at the beginning of the study (T1) and then again after 6months (T3). Quality of life was assessed using a SF-12 questionnaire while their myoma-associated complaints were ascertained by using a self-developed myoma symptom questionnaire. Changes in the size of the myomas were evaluated by vaginal sonography. Side effects after 3months (T2) and 6months were documented by systematic interviews.
Overall; 25 participants (median 45years) have been enrolled. The analysis of the SF-12 questionnaire showed a significant improvement of the physical cumulative score of the SF-12 during the 6month GTE capsule ingestion (T1 mean value (M) = 52.731; 95% confidence interval (KI
) 49.791-55.671; T3 M = 55.862; KI
% 55.038-56.685; p = 0.019). However, the mental cumulative score of the SF-12 did not change significantly (p = 0.674). No significant correlation could be established between the capsule ingestion and changes in the symptom questionnaire, the laboratory parameters nor the myoma size. No relevant adverse side effects were reported.

Through this study, we aimed to evaluate the effects of different types of placenta previa (PP) on maternal and neonatal outcomes.
This study was conducted in The Third Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University and Tongji Hospital between January 2009 and 2019. PP was traditionally classified into four types, namely low-lying placenta, marginal, partial, and complete PP. Previous studies have classified PP into two types, namely low-lying placenta and PP. Based on our clinical experience, we proposed the classification of PP into three types, for the first time, which included low-lying placenta, “marpartial” (marginal and partial) PP, and complete PP. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was performed to determine the effects of different types of PP on maternal and neonatal outcomes.
In total, 4490 singleton pregnancies were complicated with PP. In the four-classification method, compared with women with low-lying placenta, women with complete PP had a risk of placenta accrete spectrum disorders, postpartum hemorrhage (PPH), hemorrhagic shock, severe PPH, blood transfusion, hysterectomy, puerperal infection, preterm labor, NICU admission, and low birth weight.
