    tual disability and autism.

These results represent a unique opportunity for the development of a specific class of compounds for treating 7Dup and other forms of intellectual disability and autism.

Obtaining reliable estimates of the health-related quality of life (HR-QoL) of people with predementia Alzheimer’s disease [AD] (preclinical or prodromal AD), mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and dementia is essential for economic evaluations of related health interventions.

To provide an overview of which quality of life instruments are being used to assess HR-QoL in people with predementia AD, MCI or dementia; and, to summarise their reported HR-QoL levels at each stage of the disease and by type of respondent.

We systematically searched for and reviewed eligible studies published between January 1990 and the end of April 2017 which reported HR-QoL for people with predementia AD, MCI or dementia. We only included instruments which are preference-based, allowing index scores/utility values to be attached to each health state they describe based on preferences obtained from population surveys. Summary results were presented by respondent type (self or proxy), type of instrument, geographical location andues when estimating the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of interventions in this area. Further research is required on HR-QoL of people with preclinical and prodromal AD and MCI, possible differences by type of dementia, the effects of comorbidities, study setting and the informal caregiver’s own HR-QoL, including any effect of that on their proxy-ratings.

A substantial literature now exists quantifying the impact of dementia on HR-QoL using preference-based measures, giving researchers and modellers a firmer basis on which to select appropriate utility values when estimating the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of interventions in this area. The heterogeneity inherent in autism spectrum disorder (ASD) presents a substantial challenge to diagnosis and precision treatment. Heterogeneity across biological etiologies, genetics, neural systems, neurocognitive attributes and clinical subtypes or phenotypes has been observed across individuals with ASD.

In this study, we aim to investigate the heterogeneity in ASD from a multimodal brain imaging perspective. The Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) was used as a reference to guide functional and structural MRI fusion. DSM-IV-TR diagnosed Asperger’s disorder (n = 79), pervasive developmental disorder-not otherwise specified [PDD-NOS] (n = 58) and Autistic disorder (n = 92) from ABIDE II were used as discovery cohort, and ABIDE I (n = 400) was used for replication.

Dorsolateral prefrontal cortex and superior/middle temporal cortex are the primary common functional-structural covarying cortical brain areas shared among Asperger’s, PDD-NOS and Autistic subgroups. Key differences among the thror the general ASD population.

This study is male based, which cannot be generalized to the female or the general ASD population.

Despite recent advances in treatment options, pancreatic cancer remains the most deadly major cancer. Targeting metabolism represents an emerging anti-cancer strategy.

Metagenomic 16S analysis was employed to explore the effect of Dichloroacetate (DCA) on the composition of the fecal microbiota and metabolomic profile was assessed on in vivo pancreatic cancer mouse xenograft model. Pancreatic cancer xenograft mice displayed a shift of microbiota’ profile as compared to control mice without DCA treatment and a significant decrease of the purine bases inosine xanthine together with their metabolically-related compound hypoxanthine were observed in the DCA treated group as compared to the control group. Two aminoacids methionine and aspartic acid resulted decreased and increased respectively. DCA affects tumor environment and studies are needed in order to understand whether DCA supplementation could be supportive as synergistic approach to enhance the efficacy of existing cancer treatments in pancreatic cancer patients.

Normal-tension glaucoma is known as a multifactorial optic neuropathy. A number of lines of evidence suggested that vascular factors played a significant role in the development of normal-tension glaucoma. The mechanisms underlying the abnormal ocular blood flow in normal-tension glaucoma are still not clear. Peripheral vascular disease seems to be associated with glaucoma populations independent of other cardiovascular risk factors. We found this presentation, for the first time, to our knowledge, as another probable vascular abnormality related to our patient with normal-tension glaucoma, although it is necessary to confirm its pathological effect in future studies.

Our patient was a 48-year-old Spanish man without any personal and family history of interest except for circulatory problems of the lower limbs with repetitive ulcers at the frontal and lateral aspects of his legs. His chief complaint was vision loss when he came to consult us. In exploration, his best corrected visual acuity was 20/20 in both eyes; initial intraocular pressure in the right eye was 14-16 mmHg and in the left eye was 16-18 mmHg, with a mild sclerosis of the lens in slit-lamp examination.
