    Neuroendocrine prostate cancer (NEPC) can arise de novo, but much more commonly occurs as a consequence of a selective pressure from androgen deprivation therapy or androgen receptor antagonists used for prostate cancer (PCa) treatment. The process is known as neuroendocrine transdifferentiation. There is little molecular characterization of NEPCs and consequently there is no standard treatment for this kind of tumors, characterized by highly metastases rates and poor survival. For this purpose, we profiled 54 PCa samples with more than 10-years follow-up for gene and miRNA expression. We divided samples into two groups (NE-like vs. AdenoPCa), according to their clinical and molecular features. NE-like tumors were characterized by a neuroendocrine fingerprint made of known neuroendocrine markers and novel molecules, including long non-coding RNAs and components of the estrogen receptor signaling. A gene expression signature able to predict NEPC was built and tested on independently published datasets. This study identified molecular features (protein-coding, long non-coding, and microRNAs), at the time of surgery, that may anticipate the NE transformation process of prostate adenocarcinoma. Our results may contribute to improving the diagnosis and treatment of this subgroup of tumors for which traditional therapy regimens do not show beneficial effects.In order to solve the low-sensitivity problem of the dielectric constant with the resonant cavity method, a sensor based on a substrate-integrated waveguide structure loaded with a multi-complementary open resonant ring is proposed. With the enhanced resonance characteristics of the sensor, this design realized the measurement of complex dielectric constants in a wide range. The frequency selectivity of the sensor is improved by the high-quality factor of the substrate-integrated waveguide. By loading three complementary resonant rings with different opening directions in the ground plane, a deeper notch and better out-of-band suppression are achieved. The effect of the complex dielectric constant on both resonant frequency and quality factor is discussed by calculating the material under test with a known dielectric constant. Simulation and experimental results show that a resonance frequency offset of 102 MHz for the per unit dielectric constant is achieved. A wide frequency offset is the prerequisite for accurate measurement. The measurement results of four plates match well with the standard values, with a relative error of the real part of the dielectric constant of less than 2% and an error of less than 0.0099 for the imaginary part.BACKGROUND Paipa cheese is a traditional, semi-ripened cheese made from raw cow’s milk in Colombia. The aim of this work was to gain insights on the microbiota of Paipa cheese by using a culture-independent approach. METHOD two batches of Paipa cheese from three formal producers were sampled during ripening for 28 days. Total DNA from the cheese samples was used to obtain 16S rRNA gene sequences by using Illumina technology. RESULTS Firmicutes was the main phylum found in the cheeses (relative abundances 59.2-82.0%), followed by Proteobacteria, Actinobacteria and Bacteroidetes. Lactococcus was the main genus, but other lactic acid bacteria (Enterococcus, Leuconostoc and Streptococcus) were also detected. Stapylococcus was also relevant in some cheese samples. The most important Proteobacteria were Enterobacteriaceae, Aeromonadaceae and Moraxellaceae. Enterobacter and Enterobacteriaceae (others) were detected in all cheese samples.
