As former preeclamptics have been shown to be at increased cardiovascular risk, this identifies a subgroup of women who may benefit from early preventive measures.

Nutrition patterns in pregnancy play a decisive role in the well-being of the mother and the fetus.

The aim of this review was to summarize and compare guidelines and recommendations on nutrition in pregnancy.

A descriptive review of major guidelines on antenatal nutrition was conducted, including the most recently published guidelines, namely, by the Australian Government Department of Health (2018); the Canadian Nutrition Working Group and Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (2016); the World Health Organization (2016); the Institute of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (2016); the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (2015); the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (2014); and the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (2008).

There is almost universal agreement regarding macronutrient requirements during pregnancy. The WHO, FIGO, and the NICE guidelines make no recommendation on fluid intake. Almost all guidelines stcomes.

Many adolescents and young adults diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) experience disease progression requiring high-dose alkylating salvage therapy, which often results in permanent infertility.

The aim of this report is to discuss fertility preservation options in female patients with consideration of chemotherapeutic agents in HL.

An electronic literature review was performed utilizing a combination of the terms “Hodgkin lymphoma,” “fertility preservation,” “ovarian tissue cryopreservation,” “oocyte cryopreservation,” “embryo cryopreservation,” and “gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist.” References and data from identified sources were searched and compiled to complete this review.

Initial treatment of HL is often nonsterilizing; however, salvage therapy and conditioning for stem cell transplantation confer significant gonadotoxicity. Established fertility preservation options for pubertal females include embryo cryopreservation and oocyte cryopreservation. These options are contraindicated within 6 months of receipt of chemotherapy. Ovarian tissue cryopreservation is an option for patients who require salvage therapy within 6 months of first-line therapy.

Timing and choice of fertility preservation techniques depends on planned first-line chemotherapy and response to treatment. In patients initially treated with low-risk chemotherapy, it is reasonable to defer invasive fertility techniques until treatment failure; however, upfront fertility preservation should be considered in patients planning to undergo primary treatment with high-risk therapy.

Scientific evidence is vital to strengthen rehabilitation; therefore, research in the scientific field of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (PRM) should be implemented and linked to all levels of the healthcare system. PRM research can be categorized into 5 areas (i) biosciences in rehabilitation; (ii) biomedical rehabilitation sciences and engineering; (iii) clinical PRM sciences; (iv) integrative rehabilitation sciences; and (v) human function-ing sciences. At the level of the healthcare system, rehabilitation can be divided into micro-, meso- and macro-levels. This paper discusses the contribution of the five above research areas to health-related rehabilitation at the different levels of the healthcare system. The contribution of PRM research can have synergistic value and facilitate improvements and implementation of scientific evidence in rehabilitation at all levels of healthcare. From a broader perspective, improved understanding of the contribution of each area of the scientific field of PRM and the priorities for the healthcare system that are set by relevant stakeholders will contribute to the advancement and rapid attainment of overall goals.

Some volatile compounds in mouthpiece cigarette adhesive emit irritating odors and affect the taste of smoking cigarettes. IKK modulator Therefore, it is necessary to monitor the volatile compounds in mouthpiece cigarette adhesive.

A rapid and simple analytical method of volatile compounds in mouthpiece cigarette adhesive was established.

In this study, headspace (HS) injection coupled with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) was utilized for qualitative and quantitative analysis. Initially, the volatile compounds in mouthpiece cigarette adhesives were detected by HS-GC-MS, followed by spectrum library retrieval. The detected compounds with the similarity to spectrum library of more than 85% were further identified by comparing the retention time and mass spectra of the detected volatile compounds and those of the corresponding standard samples. The quantitative analysis of 9 identified volatile compounds was performed.

Eleven volatile compounds in the mouthpiece cigarette adhesive were accurately identified. The quantitative analytical method of 9 volatile compounds in mouthpiece cigarette adhesive was validated to have good linearities (R2 > 0.9932) within the range of 20-5000 ng/g. The detection limits of 9 compounds were within the range of 3.1-147.7 ng/g. The intra- and inter-day relative standard deviations (RSDs) were less than 19.8%. The recoveries of these 9 compounds spiked into mouthpiece cigarette adhesive were from 68.1% to 108.3%.

The proposed method is rapid, simple, and accurate for qualitative and quantitative analysis of volatile compounds in the mouthpiece cigarette adhesive.

The developed analytical method is expected to be used to monitor volatile compounds in various adhesives.
