The target gene was identified using dual-luciferase reporter assay. Cell proliferation was measured with MTT assay, while western blotting was used to assay VEGFC expression levels. Apoptosis was assayed with FITC Annexin V Apoptosis assay kit. miR-556-3p was overexpressed in HemECs. Transfection with miR-556-3p inhibitor resulted in decreased proliferation of HemECs (p<0.05). The expression of the target gene of miR-556-3pi.e. VEGFC was upregulated when miR-556-3p inhibitor was transfected. The transfection also resulted in increased apoptosis. In HemECs, miR-556-3p is overexpressed and VEGFC expression is low.     Despite known adverse effects of anticholinergic (AC) medication, little work has been devoted to the impact of high anticholinergic burden on the rate of hospital readmission. The purpose of this study was to analyze prospectively the link between high AC burden and the rate of all-cause thirty-day hospital readmission in older people.

    This was a prospective non-interventional study conducted from January to August 2019 in one acute-care geriatric ward. All hospital stays of patients aged at least 75years who were discharged to their home were included in the analysis. AC burden was determined from discharge prescriptions using the Anticholinergic Drug Scale (ADS) and the Anticholinergic Risk Scale (ARS), and defined as high if ≥3.

    The analysis concerned 350 hospital stays. Median patient age was 88years (interquartile interval 84-91). In a multivariate analysis, the risk of hospital readmission within 30days was not increased for patients with high AC burden (ADS≥3) odds ratio 1.16 [95% confidence interval 0.56-2.37], compared to a patient whose anticholinergic burden was not high.

Zinc oxide (ZnO) acts as an activator, boosting the rubbers’ sulfur vulcanization. Maintaining the level of ZnO content in the rubber compounds as low as possible is desirable, not only for economic reasons but also to reduce the environmental footprint of the process. In this contribution, octylamine (OA) capped ZnO nanoparticles (5 nm diameter), prepared through a thermal decomposition method, were demonstrated to be efficient activators for the sulfur vulcanization of natural rubber, enabling the reduction of the required amount of ZnO as compared to commercial systems. However, no study has yet reported a genome assembly for elephant grass at the chromosome scale. Here, we report a high-quality chromosome-scale genome of elephant grass with a total size of 1.97 Gb and a 1.5% heterozygosity rate, obtained using short-read sequencing, single-molecule long-read sequencing and Hi-C chromosome conformation capture. Evolutionary analysis showed that subgenome A’ of elephant grass and pearl millet may have originated from a common ancestor more than 3.22 million years ago (MYA). Further, allotetraploid formation occurred at approximately 6.61 MYA. Syntenic analyses within elephant grass and with other grass species indicated that elephant grass has experienced chromosomal rearrangements. We found that some key enzyme-encoding gene families related to the biosynthesis of anthocyanidins and flavonoids were expanded and highly expressed in leaves, which probably drives the production of these major anthocyanidin compounds and explains why this elephant grass cultivar has a high anthocyanidin content.
