50, p  less then  .001), psychological well-being (difference 4.34, 95% CI 3.70; 4.98, Cohen’s d 0.55, p  less then  .001) and sleep-related QoL (difference -44.61, 95%CI -47.17; -42.05, Cohen’s d -1.44, p  less then  .001) at week 48 compared to baseline. At week 24 dCBT, compared to SHE, also reduced use of prescription and non-prescription sleep medication up to week 24 (adjusted rate ratio [RR] 0.64, 95% CI 0.42; 0.97, p = .037 and adjusted RR 0.52, 95% CI 0.37; 0.74, p  less then  .0001, respectively), but not healthcare utilization. Uncontrolled follow-up suggests that these effects were sustained for non-prescribed sleep medication (RR 0.52, 95% CI 0.40; 0.67, p  less then  .001). In conclusion, this study suggests that dCBT results in sustained benefits to insomnia and its daytime outcomes. © 2020 European Sleep Research Society.Atypical spontaneous activities in resting-state networks may play a role in auditory hallucinations (AHs), but networks relevant to AHs are not apparent. Given the debating role of the default mode network (DMN) in AHs, a parietal memory network (PMN) may better echo cognitive theories of AHs in schizophrenia, because PMN is spatially adjacent to the DMN and more relevant to memory processing or information integration. To examine whether PMN is more relevant to AHs than DMN, we characterized these intrinsic networks in AHs with 59 first-episode, drug-naïve schizophrenics (26 AH+ and 33 AH-) and 60 healthy participants in resting-state fMRI. We separated the PMN, DMN, and auditory network (AN) using independent component analysis, and compared their functional connectivity across the three groups. We found that only AH+ patients displayed dysconnectivity in PMN, both AH+ and AH- patients exhibited dysfunctions of AN, but neither patient group showed abnormal connectivity within DMN. The connectivity of PMN significantly correlated with memory performance of the patients. see more Further region-of-interest analyses confirmed that the connectivity between the core regions of PMN, the left posterior cingulate gyrus and the left precuneus, was significantly lower only in the AH+ group. In exploratory correlation analysis, this functional connectivity metric significantly correlated with the severity of AH symptoms. The results implicate that compared to the DMN, the PMN is more relevant to the AH symptoms in schizophrenia, and further provides a more precise potential brain modulation target for the intervention of AH symptoms. © 2020 The Authors. However, clinical staging based on clinical examination, including cystoscopy and transurethral resection of bladder tumor (TURBT), often understages patients compared to final pathology at radical cystectomy and lymph node (LN) dissection, mainly due to underestimation of the depth of local invasion and the presence of LN metastasis. MRI has now become established as the modality of choice for the local staging of BC and can be additionally utilized for the assessment of regional LN involvement and tumor spread to the pelvic bones and upper urinary tract (UUT). The recent development of the Vesical Imaging-Reporting and Data System (VI-RADS) recommendations has led to further improvements in bladder MRI, enabling standardization of image acquisition and reporting. Multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (mpMRI) incorporating morphological and functional imaging has been proven to further improve the accuracy of primary and recurrent tumor detection and local staging, and has shown promise in predicting tumor aggressiveness and monitoring response to therapy. These sequences can also be utilized to perform radiomics, which has shown encouraging initial results in predicting BC grade and local stage. In this article, the current state of evidence supporting MRI in local, regional, and distant staging in patients with BC is reviewed. The mechanisms might be involved in endothelial dysfunction, nitric oxide deficiency, oxidative stress, and proinflammatory cytokines. Propolis is widely used as a natural antioxidant and is a well-known functional food for its biological activities, which includes anti-inflammation, antimicrobial, and liver detoxification. In this study, we successfully replicated a high-salt diet-induced hypertensive rat model. We found that in the long-term high-salt diet group, the myocardial function of the rats was altered and led to a significant decrease (around 49%) in heart function. However, doses of Chinese water-soluble propolis (WSP) were found directly proportional (11%, 60%, 91%, respectively) to the myocardial function improvement in hypertensive rats. The results from the blood circulation test and HE stains showed that propolis had protective effects on myocardial functions and blood vessels in hypertensive rats. Also, based on the results of WB and PCR, WSP effectively regulated Nox2 and Nox4 levels and was responsible for a decrease in ROS synthesis. Our findings demonstrate that Chinese WSP has a significant effect on the blood pressure of hypertensive rats and their cardiovascular functions that improved significantly. The improvement in the cardiovascular functions might be related to the process of anti-oxidation, anti-inflammation, and the improvements of the endothelial function in hypertensive rats. © 2020 The Authors. Screening and sequence analyses of the triclosan resistome from the soil metagenome identified a variety of triclosan-resistance ENRs. Interestingly, the mode of triclosan resistance by one hypothetical protein was elusive, mainly due to a lack of sequence similarity with other proteins that mediate triclosan resistance. Here, we carried out a structure-based function prediction of the hypothetical protein, herein referred to as FabMG, and in vivo and in vitro functional analyses. The crystal structure of FabMG showed limited structural homology with FabG and FabI, which are also involved in type II fatty acid synthesis. In vivo complementation and in vitro activity assays indicated that FabMG is functionally a FabI-type ENR that employs NADH as a coenzyme. Variations in the sequence and structure of FabMG are likely responsible for inefficient binding of triclosan, resulting in triclosan resistance.
